An introduction
Hello everyone!
I am a mom of 3 wonderful, often challenging, children. My oldest, age 10 is diagnosed with PDD-NOS (pervasive developmental disorder-not otherwise specified). My second child, age 3, is pretty much a text book case of ADHD, and my youngest, age 2, (yes my hands are very full) has a severe case of hard headiness! LOL But, she too is receiving therapies for speech, and other delays.
I am constantly trying different things to try to get through to my kids. It may seem harsh of me, but what I expect out of my children is not just what they want to do, but what I know they can do. I know that they are all very bright children, and they all have very high potential. I am on here to share stories and ideas, and also find advice from others in those times of, “well now what”. I tend to be a rather crafty mom and I will gladly share our projects in hopes that some other families will get some enjoyment out of it too.
So, this is what to expect in blogs to be. I want others out there to know that they are not alone in having children that you can hear screaming clear across the super center while shopping. They are not alone in trying to convert grunts and whines into words. They are not alone in getting tired of repeating themselves, well, repeatedly. They are not alone in getting stumped and being at the end of their rope. And I want anyone to know that if you just need to talk, I am a very good listener. (i guess it would be better put as a very good reader) So, follow my blog and join my world of chaos and excitement as we make it through each day!
Also, feel free to check out my poem on the same topic that was published on Associated Content!
